Project Overview

APS Group completed the shop detailing, supply, fabrication and surface coating of structural steel infrastructure for the Remote Control Unloading Yard Platform at BHP Newman. The works were delivered for Ventia in accordance with project specifications.

The scope comprised approximately 21 tonnes of structural steel, including columns, beams, bracing, support steel, platforms, handrailing, grating and stairs. APS provided the full detailing package, material supply, controlled fabrication, surface treatment, trial assembly and freight to site.

Scope and key achievements

  • Delivered complete shop detailing package, including GA drawings and 3D Tekla model.
  • Supplied all bolts, grating clips and handrail fixings to project requirements.
  • Completed trial assembly prior to dispatch.

  • Managed packaging and freight to Newman, WA site.
  • Fabricated and supplied the structural steel package, including:
  • 21T structural steel package including heavy welded beams, beams, columns and bracing
  • Staircases and platform structures
  • F326 MPG grating panels
  • 73.5m handrail panels for platforms and stairs, including kickflats, bends, closures and self-closing gates
  • Painting & HDG of above as required
