The HMAS Stirling Oxley Wharf project was part of a $2.1 billion program to deliver maritime and landside facilities for our new naval assets. The upgrade consisted of a 138m long by 25m wide extension to support the Royal Australian Navy’s growing fleet by facilitating the mooring and berthing of the new Hunter Class Frigates, Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessels and other Royal Australian Navy vessels.
APS Group was engaged to deliver the drafting, fabrication and delivery of key structural steel and service infrastructure components for the project. This included extensive wharf edge protection systems, below-deck stainless steel service supports, specialised electrical and hydraulic enclosures, and critical safety infrastructure elements — contributing to both the durability and functional performance of this high-security Defence asset.
